Airbnb Guest Reviews

On Airbnb, the review process works both ways -- guests review you, and you review your guests. Submitting guest reviews is important for the Airbnb community and can improve your standing as a host. With hejGuide, you can write and submit Airbnb guest reviews directly from your dashboard without logging into Airbnb.

When to submit a guest review

After an Airbnb booking ends, you have 14 days to submit a review of your guest. Airbnb's review system is double-blind -- neither review is visible until both parties have submitted theirs, or until the 14-day window closes.

TIP

Submit your guest reviews promptly. Consistent reviewing builds your reputation as an active host on Airbnb, and your review helps other hosts make informed decisions about accepting future bookings from that guest.

How to submit a guest review

  1. Go to Reviews in the sidebar.
  2. Find the Airbnb booking you want to review. Bookings that are eligible for a guest review will show a Write Guest Review button.
  3. Click Write Guest Review. A modal will open with the review form.

Rate the guest

Rate your guest on three categories, each on a scale of 1 to 5 stars:

  • Cleanliness -- How clean did the guest leave your property?
  • Communication -- How responsive and clear was the guest in their communication?
  • House Rules -- Did the guest follow your house rules?

Write your review

  • Public review -- This text will be visible on the guest's Airbnb profile. Be honest but fair. Focus on facts and your experience hosting them.
  • Private feedback (optional) -- This is sent only to the guest and is not visible publicly. Use this to share constructive feedback you would rather not post publicly.

Recommend this guest

Toggle whether you would recommend this guest to other hosts. This is a simple yes or no that factors into Airbnb's guest reputation system.

Submit

Click Submit Review to send your review to Airbnb through the Channel Manager. Once submitted, the review cannot be edited or retracted.

WARNING

Guest reviews are permanent once submitted. Take a moment to re-read your review before clicking submit. Make sure it is fair, factual, and something you are comfortable having associated with your host profile.

Writing fair guest reviews

  • Be honest. Your review helps other hosts. If a guest was great, say so. If there were issues, mention them factually.
  • Be specific. Instead of "the guest was messy," try "the guest left the kitchen with unwashed dishes and food spills on the counter."
  • Be proportional. Minor issues do not need to be mentioned if the overall stay was positive. Save detailed feedback for significant matters.
  • Use private feedback for sensitive topics. If something was borderline or you want to give the guest a chance to improve, put it in the private feedback rather than the public review.

Review status

After submitting, the review entry on the Reviews page will show that your guest review has been sent. Remember that the review will only become visible on Airbnb once the guest has also submitted their review of you, or after the 14-day review window closes.
