Messages

The Messages module gives you a unified inbox where all guest communication lives in one place. Whether a guest reaches out through email, Booking.com, or Airbnb, their message appears in hejGuide so you can read and reply without switching between platforms.

Why use the unified inbox

Managing guest communication across multiple channels is time-consuming and easy to miss. With hejGuide Messages, you get:

  • One inbox for everything -- Email messages, Booking.com messages, and Airbnb messages all appear in a single view.
  • Organized by booking -- Every conversation is linked to a booking, so you always have the full context of who the guest is, when they are staying, and at which listing.
  • Nothing falls through the cracks -- Unread message badges and filters help you stay on top of guest inquiries.
  • Reply from hejGuide -- Send responses directly from the inbox. Your reply is delivered through the same channel the guest used (email, Booking.com, or Airbnb).

How messages arrive

  • Email messages -- When you send an email to a guest (manually or through an automation), their reply comes back into your hejGuide inbox.
  • OTA messages -- If your listings are connected through the Channel Manager, guest messages from Booking.com and Airbnb are pulled into hejGuide automatically.

TIP

To receive messages from Booking.com and Airbnb, you need an active Channel Manager connection. See OTA Messages for details.

Getting started

  1. Click Messages in the sidebar to open the inbox.
  2. You will see a list of conversations, sorted by most recent activity.
  3. Click any conversation to view the full message thread and reply.
