Your First Listing

This quick-start guide walks you through creating your first property listing in hejGuide. A listing is the foundation of everything else -- bookings, rates, guest communication, and housekeeping all connect back to it.

Creating the listing

  1. Click Listings in the sidebar.
  2. Click the Add Listing button in the top right corner.
  3. Fill in the basic information:
    • Name -- Give your property a clear, recognizable name (e.g., "Seaside Villa" or "Downtown Studio").
    • Property type -- Select the type that best describes your property: apartment, house, villa, room, cabin, or another option.
    • Description -- Write a description for your guests. Highlight what makes your property special -- the location, views, unique features, or nearby attractions.
  4. Click Save to create the listing.

Adding essential details

After saving, you can enrich your listing with additional information. We recommend completing these sections:

Photos

  1. Go to the Photos tab of your listing.
  2. Click Upload or drag and drop images into the upload area.
  3. Drag photos to rearrange their order. The first photo becomes your cover image.

TIP

Good photos make a big difference. Use well-lit, landscape-orientation images that show your property's best features -- the living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and any outdoor spaces.

Address

  1. Go to the Address section.
  2. Enter your property's full address, including city and country.
  3. Adjust the map pin if needed to ensure it shows the correct location.

Amenities

  1. Go to the Amenities section.
  2. Check the boxes for all amenities your property offers -- WiFi, parking, kitchen, air conditioning, pool, and more.
  3. Only select amenities you actually provide. Accuracy builds trust with guests.

House rules

  1. Go to the House Rules section.
  2. Write your house rules in clear, simple language. Common rules include quiet hours, smoking policy, pet policy, and maximum occupancy.

Check-in instructions

  1. Go to the Check-in Instructions section.
  2. Add the information guests need to access your property -- door codes, key pickup location, parking instructions, or directions from the nearest landmark.

What happens next

With your listing created, you are ready to:

  • Set up rates -- Define your nightly price, minimum stay, and seasonal adjustments.
  • Accept bookings -- Start adding reservations to your calendar.
  • Configure automated emails -- Set up confirmation emails, check-in instructions, and post-stay follow-ups that send automatically.

TIP

You do not have to complete everything in one session. You can always come back and update your listing details later. Just click on the listing name in the Listings page to edit it.
