Managing Photos
Great photos are one of the most important factors in attracting guests to your property. hejGuide makes it easy to upload, organize, and manage your listing photos.
Uploading photos
- Go to Listings and click on the listing you want to edit.
- Navigate to the Photos tab.
- Click Upload or drag and drop image files into the upload area.
- You can upload multiple photos at once.
Supported formats
hejGuide accepts the following image formats:
- JPEG / JPG -- Best for photographs
- PNG -- Good for images with text or graphics
- WebP -- Modern format with excellent compression
TIP
For the best results, upload photos that are at least 1920 pixels wide. Landscape orientation (horizontal) works best for property photos and displays well across all devices.
Setting a cover photo
The first photo in your gallery automatically becomes the cover photo. This is the image guests see first -- in your listing overview, on the calendar, and in search results.
To change your cover photo, simply drag a different photo to the first position in the gallery.
Reordering photos
You can change the order of your photos by dragging and dropping them into the position you want:
- Click and hold on a photo.
- Drag it to the desired position.
- Release to drop it into place.
The order you set here is the order guests will see when browsing your listing photos.
Adding captions
You can add a caption to any photo to provide context:
- Click on a photo in the gallery.
- Enter a caption in the text field (e.g., "Master bedroom with king-size bed" or "View from the balcony").
- Save your changes.
Captions help guests understand what they are looking at, especially for larger properties with many rooms.
Deleting photos
To remove a photo from your listing:
- Hover over the photo you want to remove.
- Click the delete icon.
- Confirm the deletion.
WARNING
Deleting a photo is permanent. Make sure you have a backup of any images you might need later before removing them.
Tips for great listing photos
Good photography can significantly increase your booking rate. Here are some practical tips:
- Natural light -- Shoot during the day with curtains open. Natural light makes spaces look brighter and more inviting.
- Clean and tidy -- Make sure the property is spotless before photographing. Remove personal items and clutter.
- Show every room -- Include photos of the living room, kitchen, each bedroom, bathrooms, and any outdoor spaces.
- Highlight unique features -- If your property has a pool, a view, a fireplace, or a well-equipped kitchen, make sure to feature it.
- Capture the entrance -- A photo of the exterior or entrance helps guests recognize the property when they arrive.
- Wide-angle shots -- Photograph from corners to make rooms appear spacious, but avoid extreme fisheye distortion.
- Consistent quality -- All photos should be sharp, well-lit, and at a similar quality level. One blurry photo can undermine the others.
