Direct-booking website

Every listing can have its own commission-free booking website — a branded page, filled from your photos, description, amenities and local guide, where guests can book you directly without the OTA fees.

You set it up on the Booking site tab of a listing.

The booking process: instant book vs request to book

Under Booking process you choose how a new booking is confirmed:

• Request to book — You review and confirm each booking before it's locked in. Nothing is charged up front; you decide whether to accept.
• Instant book — The booking is confirmed automatically the moment the guest completes payment. No approval step.

Why Instant book sometimes isn't available

Instant book confirms a booking automatically, so hejGuide must be able to charge the guest without you stepping in. That requires, on the Payments tab of the listing:

• A connected Stripe account — Stripe is the only payment method that can charge right away; a bank transfer / IBAN can't be charged automatically. Make sure your Stripe connection finished onboarding.
• Online payments switched on for the property.

Any payment timing works — full payment or a deposit is charged at booking, and later timings are collected automatically by your payment journey. Without Stripe, guests can still book — they'll use Request to book instead, and the Instant book option is greyed out with an ⓘ explaining why.

How payments are collected

Once Stripe is connected, your booking site takes payment by card automatically:

• Full payment timing — the whole amount is charged at checkout, the moment the guest books.
• Deposit timing — the deposit is charged at booking; the remaining balance is collected automatically by your payment journey, which emails the guest to pay on schedule (for example a set number of days before check-in). No manual invoicing.
• Pay later / pay at check-in timing — nothing is taken at booking, and the payment journey collects on schedule.

Every payment lands in the booking automatically, so a direct booking is as hands-off as an OTA one.

How to enable Instant book

1. Open the listing and go to the Payments tab.
2. Connect Stripe if you haven't already — see Payment Settings — and make sure online payments are switched on.
3. Return to the Booking site tab — Instant book is now selectable under Booking process.

Other sections of the booking site

The Booking site tab also lets you curate what guests see: a "Meet your host" intro, a photo tour of your spaces, a location map, seasonal notes, a confirmation message, "good to know" practical info, and your accent colour. Each section has its own Show on site toggle, and every edit saves automatically.

Nothing goes live until you press Activate website. If your listing is on the channel manager, the activate bar also offers a pre-checked "Also list my home on Google" option — leave it ticked and your home is submitted to Google Vacation Rentals at the same time, free and with no extra work.
