Rates & Pricing
The Rates module lets you create rate plans that automatically calculate booking prices for your listings. Instead of manually entering prices for every booking, you set up your pricing rules once and hejGuide does the rest.
What rate plans can do
A rate plan defines how your listing is priced. It supports a wide range of pricing options:
- Base price per night -- Your default nightly rate.
- Seasonal pricing -- Different rates for different times of year (e.g., higher in summer, lower in winter).
- Weekend rates -- Charge more for Friday and Saturday nights.
- Length-of-stay discounts -- Offer discounts for longer stays (e.g., 10% off for 7+ nights).
- Minimum and maximum stay -- Control how short or long a booking can be.
- Taxes -- Automatically add VAT, tourist tax, or other fees to every booking.
- Cancellation policies -- Define refund rules for cancellations.
How rate plans work
- You create a rate plan with your pricing rules.
- You assign the rate plan to one or more listings.
- When a booking is created for that listing, hejGuide automatically calculates the total price based on the rate plan -- taking into account the dates, length of stay, seasonal rates, discounts, and taxes.
A single rate plan can be shared across multiple listings if they have the same pricing structure.
TIP
Start with a simple rate plan (base price + taxes) and add seasonal pricing, discounts, and other rules as you refine your pricing strategy.
Getting started
If you are setting up rates for the first time, follow these steps:
- Create a rate plan with a base price and assign it to your listings.
- Add seasonal pricing if your rates vary by time of year.
- Set up taxes so they are included in your booking totals.
- Configure a cancellation policy for each rate plan.
- Optionally, add discounts and weekend pricing.
