Availability Overrides

Availability overrides let you customize pricing and availability rules for specific dates. Use them to set special prices for holidays, local events, or peak periods -- or to adjust minimum stay requirements for certain date ranges.

When to use overrides

Overrides are useful when your standard rate plan and seasonal pricing do not cover a specific situation:

  • Holiday pricing -- Set a premium rate for Christmas, New Year's Eve, Easter, or local festivals.
  • Event-based pricing -- Increase rates during a major concert, sports event, or conference in your area.
  • Specific date blocks -- Block individual dates that are not part of a broader seasonal pattern.
  • Minimum stay adjustments -- Require a longer minimum stay during peak weekends or holidays (e.g., 3-night minimum for a holiday weekend).

How overrides work

Overrides have the highest priority in the pricing hierarchy:

  1. Availability overrides (highest) -- Custom prices or rules for specific dates.
  2. Weekend pricing -- Friday and Saturday night rates.
  3. Seasonal pricing -- Rates for defined date ranges.
  4. Base price (lowest) -- The default nightly rate.

When an override is set for a date, it replaces whatever price would normally apply from the rate plan, season, or weekend rule.

Setting an availability override

  1. Go to Rates in the sidebar and open the rate plan you want to edit.
  2. Find the Availability Overrides section (or navigate to the calendar-style pricing view).
  3. Click "Add Override" or click directly on the dates you want to customize.
  4. Set the following:
    • Date range -- The start and end dates for the override.
    • Custom price per night -- The special nightly rate (leave blank to keep the default rate and only change other settings).
    • Minimum stay -- Override the minimum stay requirement for these dates (optional).
    • Closed to arrival -- Prevent check-ins on these dates (optional).
    • Closed to departure -- Prevent check-outs on these dates (optional).
  5. Click Save.

TIP

Use overrides sparingly for truly exceptional dates. If you find yourself creating many overrides for the same time of year, consider creating a seasonal pricing period instead -- it is easier to manage.

Examples

Holiday premium pricing

Removing an override

  1. Open the rate plan from the Rates page.
  2. In the Availability Overrides section, find the override you want to remove.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. The dates revert to the standard rate plan pricing (seasonal or base price).

WARNING

Overrides apply to future bookings only. If a booking was already created during an override period, changing or removing the override does not change the price on that existing booking.
