Channel Performance Report
The Channel Performance report shows which booking sources are driving your business. Compare revenue, booking volume, and average booking value across Booking.com, Airbnb, direct bookings, and any other channels you use. This data helps you decide where to focus your time and marketing budget.

What the report shows
Bookings per channel
See the total number of bookings from each source for the selected period. Sources typically include:
- Booking.com -- Bookings from Booking.com via the Channel Manager.
- Airbnb -- Bookings from Airbnb via the Channel Manager.
- Direct -- Bookings you created manually in hejGuide (direct bookings, phone reservations, repeat guests).
- Other channels -- Any additional OTAs connected through the Channel Manager (Vrbo, Expedia, etc.).
- iCal -- Bookings imported via iCal sync.
Revenue per channel
The total revenue generated by each booking source. This tells you not just which channels bring the most bookings, but which ones bring the most money.
Average booking value
Revenue divided by the number of bookings for each channel. A higher average booking value can indicate:
- Longer average stays from that platform.
- Higher-value guests willing to pay premium rates.
- Better rate parity or less discounting on that channel.
Channel distribution
A visual breakdown (such as a pie or bar chart) showing the proportional contribution of each channel to your total bookings and revenue. This gives you an instant overview of how diversified your booking sources are.
TIP
Relying too heavily on a single channel is risky. If one platform changes its algorithm, fees, or policies, your entire business could be affected. Aim to diversify your bookings across at least two or three channels, plus direct bookings.
How to use this report
Evaluate channel ROI
Some OTAs charge higher commissions than others. By comparing revenue per channel against the commission costs you pay, you can calculate your true return from each platform. If a channel brings a lot of bookings but the commission eats into your margins, you might want to shift focus to more profitable sources.
Optimize your channel strategy
- High-performing channels -- Double down on what works. Improve your listing quality on platforms that bring the most revenue.
- Underperforming channels -- Investigate why a channel is not delivering. It could be a listing quality issue, pricing mismatch, or low visibility. Consider improving your profile on that platform or adjusting rates.
- Growing direct bookings -- Direct bookings typically have no commission. If your direct booking share is low, consider strategies like a direct booking website, returning guest discounts, or collecting guest email addresses for future marketing.
Track changes over time
Run the report for multiple consecutive months or quarters to see whether your channel mix is changing. If a platform's share is declining, investigate early before it impacts your revenue significantly.
WARNING
The Channel Performance report shows booking volume and revenue, but does not automatically deduct OTA commissions. Keep your commission rates in mind when comparing net revenue across channels.
